Building the new Wairarapa Ambulance Station is truly a team effort, which simply couldn’t be done without the support of our Wairarapa community – like our latest partnership with Julie Moore of Moore Wilson’s. Julie Moore has generously donated an incredible $100,000 towards building the new Wairarapa Station!
With a history stretching back to 1960, Moore Wilson’s in Masterton has grown with the community and is passionate about being part of it. As part of this community commitment, all Moore Wilson’s stores have moved their AEDs from inside their stores to outside, to ensure everyone can access one, if needed. Additionally, they’re committed to having all their staff trained in life-saving CPR skills through our The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat programme.
This partnership not only brings us to $7.3 million of our $7.5 million fundraising goal, but also increases public access to life-saving AEDs and equips hundreds of Moore Wilson’s staff with CPR skills, which may help to save and change the lives of staff, customers, and community members.
Ex-Masterton Mayor and Wellington Free Ambulance Wairarapa Station Build Ambassador Bob Francis says: “I welcome the outstanding support from Moore Wilson’s, an iconic Wellington and Wairarapa family business who have been operating at the south end of Masterton CBD for over 60 years. The Moore family support confirms their long-term commitment to our district and region.”
Claire Carruthers, General Manager – Fundraising and Communications at Wellington Free, says: “This partnership is just wonderful, not only are Moore Wilson’s giving a significant contribution to our much-needed new station, but Julie and her family are supporting their staff, customers and their whole community with lifesaving CPR training and public access to an AED. It is a partnership to support lifesaving services to our communities.”
