Wellington Free received some much needed supPAWt at the beginning of April.
Staff in our Communication Centre and Head Office in Thorndon were treated to an incredibly special visit from Canine Friends Pet Therapy.
Our staff absolutely loved taking a couple of minutes to say hello and enjoy a hug from therapy dogs. See more photos of all the smiles – and wagging tails here
Executive Director for Communications Centre and Patient Co-ordination Kate Jennings says the visits have been very well received.
“Feedback from staff has been that the visits from the therapy dogs have lifted their moods and reduced their stress levels,” Kate says.
“When the dogs have been in, staff have felt more relaxed, given them a sense of commonality and felt more connected to one another,” she says.
Staff share their favourite memories or funny stories about their own pets and we have a good laugh together, Kate explains.
“All in all, it’s been a great success!”
There have been several more visits since this and still more planned.
Thanks for taking the time to come and visit us Canine Friends Pet Therapy – New Zealand!
