Since 1927 Wellington Free Ambulance, New Zealand’s only free metropolitan ambulance service, has been the sole emergency ambulance provider for the people of greater Wellington.

As an essential service provider for the community, Wellington Free Ambulance is committed to providing the highest quality clinical care in emergency situations, pre-hospital care, rescue & patient transport services - and all at no cost to the patient.

Wellington Free Ambulance assists more than 50,000 people in the greater Wellington region each year - an average of more than 136 people per day, and about 1 in every 8 people living in this area that need our help annually.
